IPL revAMP is a seven-year Plan to invest $1.2 billion in the modernization of IPL’s electric grid. Most of the modernization plan addresses the upgrade and replacement of aging equipment, hardware and other assets. The remaining revAMP Plan allows IPL to provide customers with new, state of the art equipment and technologies that provide customers with:
Improved service reliability, efficiency and performance
Fewer outages and shorter duration of outages
Enhanced equipment performance and reliability
Improved Customer experience and communications
IPL revAMP will focus on the improvement of six key areas.
The revAMP Plan involves replacing outdated infrastructure, some of which is more than 50 years old, with new, modern assets will allow IPL to move to a more enabled and modern electric system for customers.
By updating aging infrastructure, the IPL revAMP Plan can decrease the risk of outages and allow IPL to restore service quicker and more efficiently.
Advanced technology and replacement of older equipment provides safety features that protect our customers and employees.
With smarter technology, IPL can be instantly notified of any outages or service issues, which allows IPL to begin working on a resolution right away while keeping you informed.
New technology will allow IPL to pinpoint location and cause of issues in our infrastructure. This provides us with a better assessment to know what and who it takes to resolve issues.
Moving to a modern grid will enable integration of new technologies, like customer-sited renewables, and will create a grid that can heal itself.
